
Allison Brooks Janney, born on the 19th of November, 1959, in America is an American actress. Her performance on screen as well as stage have been a hallmark of her career which spans three decades. Janney was awarded numerous awards, including the Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. The actress was also awarded seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was also nominated for Two Tony Awards. Born in Boston and living in Dayton, Ohio, Janney was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after having graduated from Kenyon College. Following years of minor, uncredited film and television appearances, Janney's breakthrough came with the role of C. J. Cregg in The West Wing, an NBC The West Wing, a political thriller The West Wing (1999-2006) in which she won 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. She won the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for the Best Guest Actress in for a Drama Series as Margaret Scully's part on Masters of Sex. The most notable role she played was her performance as Bonnie Plunkett.
